Nominate a Teacher

Who is eligible?

Any active PreK-4 thru 12th grade educator in a Lafayette Parish public, private, parochial or charter school. The educator does not have to be the teacher a student has this school year – it can be a teacher who impacted the student’s life years ago. As long as they are currently teaching in Lafayette Parish, they are eligible for nomination. Take action and make your favorite teacher a winner this year by nominating them for the 2019 Teacher Awards!

Who can nominate a teacher?

Current and former students, parents, fellow educators, and members of the community.

What should you look for when nominating a teacher?

Look for educators who have in some way impacted the life of a student or family, those who go beyond the job description to show that they care.

How are the Sixteen Finalists Selected?

Each nomination letter is read by the Teacher Awards Selection Committee, a group of volunteers including but not limited to LEF Board Members, sponsors, and community volunteers. The letters which convey the greatest impact determine the sixteen finalists.
